General Information
MITIN (Integration of the System Models of Mitochondrial Function and Insulin Signalling and its Application in the Study of Complex Diseases) is a collaborative project which intends to elucidate the interplay between the signaling pathway and the mitochondrial function through the combination of computational tools and moleculars omics technologies in a multidisciplinary, integrated system biological approach.

Project duration: 36 months
Start date: 1-11-2008
Contract no.: HEALTH-F4-2008-223450
Project cost: 3.85 million euro
EC funding: 2.96 million euro
Funding scheme: Small or medium-scale focused research project
Research area (topic): HEALTH-2007-2.1.2-5: Multidisciplinary fundamental genomics and molecular biology approaches to study basic biological processes relevant to health and diseases
Project Consortium
MITIN consortium consists of a multidisciplinary team involving six partners from four different countries: Spain, Finland, United Kingdom and Germany. The consortium is made up of a combination of several research and high education organisations that gather a considerable expertise in complementary fields: bioinformatics and computational genomics, metabolism, mitochondrial dynamics, insulin signalling, transcriptomics, and lipidomics.
